Privacy Policy
1. Who controls your data
Technology Monkey Ltd, company number 17026102, registered office 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE, England, is the data controller for personal data collected through courses.technologymonkey.co.uk.
For any privacy question or request, contact hello@technologymonkey.co.uk.
2. What we collect, and why
If you join the notification list
We collect your email address. We use it only to tell you when the course launches. Our lawful basis is consent, which you give by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time by replying to any message or emailing us.
If you buy a course
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing information directly — we never receive or store your card details. Paddle passes us your name, email address and country so we can give you access to the course and provide support.
Our lawful basis is performance of a contract: we need this information to deliver what you have bought.
If you contact us
We keep the correspondence and your contact details so we can answer you and maintain a record of the exchange. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to people who get in touch.
When you visit the site
Our hosting provider processes standard technical data such as IP address and request details in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics profiling on this site.
3. Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors and service providers:
- Paddle.com Market Ltd — merchant of record. Handles payment, billing, tax and invoicing. Paddle is a controller in its own right for the payment transaction and publishes its own privacy notice.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and content delivery.
- Our email provider — for sending launch notifications and replying to enquiries.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
4. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.
5. How long we keep it
- Notification list — until you unsubscribe, or until the launch messages have been sent and the list is no longer needed.
- Purchase and access records — for as long as you have access to the course, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations, which for UK company records is generally six years.
- Correspondence — normally up to two years after the matter is closed.
6. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Ask us to delete your data, where no overriding obligation requires us to keep it
- Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing
- Receive data you gave us in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these, email hello@technologymonkey.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
7. Cookies
This site does not set advertising or profiling cookies. Cookies may be set during checkout by Paddle in order to process your payment securely; these are necessary for the transaction to work.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version in force is the one published here, and the "last updated" date above reflects material changes.
